From promotional letter of the 2017 World Population Data Sheet:
As in previous years, this Data Sheet includes a variety of key indicators for population, health, and the environment that will serve as handy references for you over the coming year. Each indicator is provided at the global level, for world regions, and for more than 200 individual countries and territories.
This year’s Data Sheet highlights the state of the world’s youth (generally defined as people ages 15-24) and the extent to which they are positioned to develop their full potential in adulthood. Youth-specific indicators in the Data Sheet include figures for current youth populations and projections for 20150; secondary and tertiary school enrollment ratios by gender; adolescent fertility rates for ages 15 to 19; and the percent of youth living with HIV/AIDS.
The Data Sheet is produced with support from the US Agency for the International Development through the PACE project. PACE–Policy, Advocacy, and Communication Enhanced for Population and Reproductive Health–Project which supports governments to ensure family planning and population issues are included in policies and programs as key to sustainable, equitable economic growth and development, and thereby help countries to achieve Family Planning 2020 goals, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals.
